Open Gym for Softball will start on Monday, January 7th!

Dates:
Mondays (Jan 7, 14, 28, Feb 4, 11)
Wednesdays (Jan 9, 16, 23, 30, Feb 6)
*Open to all participants free of charge on Feb. 6 & 11

Time: 7:15pm-9:15pm
Please DO NOT enter the Main Gym until 7:15pm.

Age: 5th grade - 12th grade

Cost: $50 for all sessions (Mon & Wed)
$30 for either Mondays OR Wednesdays
*Cost includes a Herriman Softball T-Shirt!

Location: Herriman High School Main Gym
(11917 South 6000 West)
Gym is located on the North side of the school.

Todays game vs. Brighton has been CANCELLED! We will re-schedule this game for a later date TBD.

First Cut

The following athletes have made the first cut for the softball team. If your name is listed below, I will see you tomorrow in the MAIN GYM at either 1:15 (for those of you who have the athletics class) or 5:00pm (ALL players listed below). If you have the athletics class, but your name is not listed below, you will need to see a counselor and be transferred out of athletics and into another PE class. Thanks to ALL girls who tried out for the team. Keep up the hard work!

Tryouts!

Tryouts will be held Monday, February 27th in the Main Gym of the High School from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Please be there ASAP (preferrably 3:00) so we can get your information recorded and start tryouts right at 3:30. The first cut will be announced on Monday night sometime (more information to come).

If we need to make two cuts, we will have tryouts again on Tuesday in the Main Gym from 5:00pm-7:00pm.

Parent Meeting - Re-Scheduled

The pre-tryout parent meeting that was scheduled for tonight has been CANCELLED due to the lock-down at the school today. The meeting will be re-scheduled for Tuesday, February 21st at 6:30 pm in the small theatre at the High School.
Please spread the word to those who you know were planning to attend the meeting.

Mandatory Pre-Tryout Meeting!

There will be a MANDATORY meeting for students (9th-12th grade) wishing to tryout for the softball team this year. Each student MUST HAVE A PARENT PRESENT at this meeting!

Date: Tuesday, February 21st
Time: 6:30 pm
Place: Herriman High School Small Theatre

This meeting will last no more than 1 Hour. Topics being discussed include:

- Tryout Checklist (what you need to do before tryouts on the 27th)
- 2012 Softball Schedule
- Team Fees
- Team Rules/Expectations
- What to expect at tryouts
- Other questions/comments/concerns from parents of players trying out

OPEN GYM!

Sorry for the delay in information, but here is what we have set up for open gym:

Dates: Mondays (Jan. 9, 23, 30, *Feb. 6, 13)

Ages/Grades: 5th grade - 12th grade

Times: 6:15pm-7:30pm (5th grade-7th grade)
7:30pm-9:30pm (8th grade-12th grade)

Cost: $35 (includes a camp t-shirt)
*Feb 6th and 13th are FREE camp days for everyone!

Location: Herriman High Main Gym

Register ONLINE at www.activityreg.com Click on Utah, Click on County Sports Office, then click on Register for Activities. You can also bring your money to the camp on the first night (Jan 9th). Make checks payable to Salt Lake County Recreation.

Please note...as with all of our open gyms and open practices, your participation does not guarantee you a spot on the team, nor does your absence mean you will not make the team. The camps and practices are open to anyone who would like to improve their softball skills. I hope to see you all there on Monday!
